Raining Cats and Dogs

Yesterday, Bug and I headed out with her preschool for an adventure to the local SPCA.  With trenchrall rains, cool weather, and a morning full of cats and dogs, I thought the old cliché’ was worthy of today’s blog post title.

Bug, along with her class learned the essentials of caring for a cat or dog.

Food, toys, shelter, and like humans — pets need a lot of love.

Like these ones waiting for adoption:

This is Dapple, he’s new to the SPCA, and although he is not yet available, he soon will be. He’s a mix of several breeds, but he’s cute and small.

Then there’s this guy:

This is Denver, he’s been with the SPCA now for about 226 days. Yep, almost a WHOLE YEAR!  I don’t know what Denver’s story is, but I’m sure the poor guy has seen plenty of other dogs come and go while he’s been living with the SPCA. And, too, I’m sure he’d appreciate a good home from a loving care-giver.

Of course, these adorable little kittens are hanging out at the SPCA too, waiting for adoption:

They’re just purring for a new home!

Of course, what would a day raining cats and dogs be like without some hot soup and sandwiches for lunch?

What do you think tomato or chicken noodle?

Well, this weekend we’re off on another adventure as I write through motherhood, where are we going this time? I guess you’ll just have to wait until monday to find out.

Daughter of a dairy farmer, this crafty mom has a heart for all things handmade. When she's not writing or crafting, you can find her creating memories with her family.
