All I Want For Christmas

It’s been a pretty fast paced weekend, so last evening after traveling home from visiting family for the holidays, I grabbed a book off my pile of favorites and settled down for a night of reading.

I picked up Nora Roberts, THE GIFT. Two stories in one book, I ended up reading the first story and half of the second before my hubby turned off the lights on me. The second story titled, All I Want For Christmas, is a cute romance where two brothers write a letter to Santa wanting a mom for christmas.

hoping this evening after gathering with my sorority sisters for some holiday cheer that I’ll be able to finish reading it.

In the mean time, it (the story) had me thinking of all the things my kids wrote on their list this year that they wanted for Christmas. My hubby bought me a new vacuum. (Yeah, it was pretty obvious when the UPS guy delivered it in original packaging.) I also treated myself to a new pair of warm fuzzy boots this year from DSW. I’ve been wearing them for days they’re so comfortable and warm.

I finally got the book shelf back in order in my office, still have a ton of books to organize, but I can across a folder full of notes for a story that I never got around to writing, but had all these scenes, characters and ideas.

I’m leaving that folder on my desk until after Christmas.

For now. All I want for Christmas is to spend the holidays with family, friends, and good food. How about you? What do you want this holiday season?
