A Morning with Preschoolers

This  morning I visited Bug’s preschool class.

Each year my children have attended this preschool I’ve always been able to do one special craft with a class.  This year, I was back in the 3 and 4-year-old class with Bug.  Since last year’s book craft with the 5-year-old class went so well, I chose Mother’s day again.

I’d been trying to think of something really unique. It’s really hard to “top” a craft project when two years ago I made a quilt with kids in this age range in the same teacher’s class. But sometimes it’s not all about being bigger and better, it’s the thought that counts.

And think I did.

think…think…think…

so after scouring the internet I came up with this.

If you’ve been around preschoolers long enough then you know that a craft has to be quick, simple, and easy. Yeah I know simple and easy are kind the same thing, but quick is the key word.

So we took some clothes pins, painted glue on them and put stripes of glitter paper on top to make flower petals.

The base is green card stock and a yellow circle for the flower. ( I was originally going to do “you are my sunshine” but I couldn’t find yellow glittery paper).

I printed out the “Happy Mother’s Day” and punched them out with a scallop punch.

The clothes pins have magnet on the back for mom’s fridge.

It was great. Had tons of fun, and appreciate Bug’s teachers allowing me to come in and do crafts with the kids.

In the mean time, I’ve got my own set of pretty pink clothes pins on my refrigerator with the latest artwork from Bug, Bell, and Boy on display.

All in all, it was a wonderful morning with preschoolers yesterday.

Daughter of a dairy farmer, this crafty mom has a heart for all things handmade. When she's not writing or crafting, you can find her creating memories with her family.
