It’s been nothing but rain this week. Down pours of showers that soak you to the bone before you can even reach your car out in the driveway. Today, we had our first glimpse of the sun, but for those whose homes have been wading in several inches if not feet of water, this peak of sun brings little relief to the clean up ahead.
I praise God we were amongst those more fortunate in our area to be high and dry, so to speak. We had a small trickle of water running from the downstairs bathroom across the basement floor and luckily into our floor drain. Our yard is a little soggy, and we’re a little damp and chilled, but today I’m happy to say we’ve dried out.
I spent the day calling friends, emailing them, texting them to make sure they were ok and offering to help where I could. Many have swimming pools in their basements and others were out helping others. Homes were washed away, flooded, and bridges blocked that are now unsafe to drive across.
I ran a few errands and our local Wal-Mart and Lowes was packed.
While it seems we’re recovering from the blasts of rain here on the east coast, friends in the mid west are battling drought and fires. You’re all in my thoughts and prayers.
It seems we’re all dealing with mother nature in some way or another.
If you have a prayer request or just want to share whats happening (flooding or drought) in your neck of the woods, I’d love to hear from you all. Know you’re all okay.
