Make It Monday – Swishlander Storage

Today I want to share with you this handmade storage box that Bug and I created for one of our cousins over the holiday season. It was so simple to make and now cousin Karlee can keep all her squishies together, or shall we say Sqwishlanders in the same place without loosing them.

We took one of hte medium size artbin containers and added some scrapbook paper. I used a cricut cartridge called create a critter, to cut out the cute little whale. I did a print out off the computer that said “Karlee’s Swishlander Collection, and then cut two differnt designed scrapbook papers to create the design on top. Inside, I cut 1 3/4″ x 2″ pieces of designer card stock for room dividers and cut longer pieces at about 2″ x 12” to lay in the bottom of each room. This way, Karlee can create special rooms for each of her sqwishlanders and redesign them over and over.

Although Bell doesn’t have as many swishlanders or squishies as her cousin, she’s decided to make one of her own. This little project took about 30 minutes and your sqwuishlander collector will have a blast creating a cute little place to store them!!

We won’t have any more post this year, as the kids are off school and I’d like to spend some quality time with them before school starts again. It’s hard to believe when we come back it will be 2012.

Have a wonderful New Year and I’ll see you again on Jan. 2 with another simple and creative craft to kick off the new year. 🙂
