Halloween is one of our most celebrated holidays in the Lower household. Next to Christmas. Why? Because on Christmas we celebrate Jesus’s birth.
On Halloween, we celebrate my husband’s birth. Yep, he’s a Halloween baby. Spooky isn’t it!
Every year, our church puts on a Hallelujah night for the community. We gather up as much candy we can get, put together a bunch of games and activities and have a lot lot lot of fun!!
This year, the theme was Willy Wonka and the Candy Factory. And in the top balcony of the church was Candy Land.
Guess who got to be King Candy for his birthday this year?
And guess who got to make his costume?
Our oldest daughter decided she wanted to be the human form of Princess Twilight Sparkle (You know My Little Pony)
and I’m proud to say she did most of her costume making herself. My other two kiddos had no problem pulling out pre-made ones from store bought packages.
And after having all the fun of dressing up ourselves, tonight it’s our turn to give back and serve our community by turning on our porch light and handing out yummy treats.
I dare say, My King Candy will be in full costume on his birthday.
It’s so much fun to play dress up, what are you this year?
Happy Halloween, everyone!
